SAWANKHALOK MANHUNT ELEPHANT

  Sawankhalok is one of the districts in the northern part of Sukhothai which is located in the northern part of the capital originally Thailand.Sawankhalok is the one of region, which in 1932 was merged with the Sukhothai province.

     In 1917, this area has been renamed from Mueang (เมือง) to Wang Mai Khon (วัง ไม้ ขอน) and in 1938 he was named Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima (เมือง สวรรคโลก), which was converted to Sawankhalok in 1939 .This place also famous as a center for the manufacture of ceramics and developed in the 14th century - 16th century.

     Sawankhalok Manhunt Elephant is one kind of handmade clay pottery or stoneware celadone glaze that has been produced  from the beginning of the 15th century and the 16th in the Age Ayutthaya.The height is estimated to be 9.4 cm artifacts that have color black and a bit browny pottery . Its describe about  their belief in something relate to supernatural spirit.
 
     It describes an elephant standing war seemed to be ready to face the war that the entire body is covered with a shield that dominates almost the entire .At the behind, its bringing a prince who is on the throne and two servants at the front and at the back of a slave. At the bottom of the figure which also looks 6 plays a role as a protector or military to Prince .
 
   Usually  artifacts  Thailand Sawankhalok pottery consists of a color that is "Monochrome" Apart from brownish black, green and white.If you look at the structure of pottery can be seen that the materials used in the manufacture of statues has a high content of iron oxide and can be viewed on the color pink reddish and a bit black.
